This is life changing for anyone who doesn’t eat dairy. This is delicious on crackers and also as a spread. You could definitely also experiment with this one, I intend to try one with dried cranberries, I was also thinking cracked black pepper and chilli might be nice.
Total time: 30 minutes prep 2 hours refrigeration
Serves: 10
Ingredients:
- ½ cup of cashew nuts
- Tsp oregano
- Tsp mixed herbs
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tsp corn starch
- 1 clove of garlic
- 4 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp agar, agar powder
- Oil for brushing ramekin
Directions:
- Lightly brush a ramekin with oil
- Soak the cashew nuts for 30 minutes in boiling water
- Drain out the water and blend with oregano, mixed herbs, garlic, salt, corn-starch, nutritional yeast, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup and ½ cup of water.
- Then add the agar ager powder to ½ cup of boiling water. Add the cashew mixture and bring to the boil whilst stirring.
- Pour into ramekin and keep in the fridge for two hours
