95% of diets don’t work for long-term weight loss. It’s a shocking statistic (and one I quote often).

But here’s the thing.

Sometimes, my programs don’t work either.

There. I said it!

Honestly? I’ve thought long & hard about writing this blog, because I KNOW my programs and 1-1 coaching are hugely successful for most people. I’ve been privileged to support some incredible women through some amazing transformations.

But the cold hard truth is my clients do not have a 100% success rate.

Why am I even writing this blog?

Firstly, authenticity is one of my core values. I don’t want to mislead anyone to think I have a magic pill that works for everyone. I don’t.

If I did, I’d be an extremely rich and famous lady.

The main reason for sharing this is that I NEED you to know that to succeed with any of my courses or 1-1 coaching, you need to show up and do the work.

Just by paying me money you are not 100% guaranteed results.

What does showing up mean?

Coaching can get pretty deep. It requires you to do some introspective work. It isn’t as easy as me dishing out meal plans or a calorie count to stick to and sending you on your way.

That’s a diet – I think we have established they don’t work!

In order to make real lifelong change, we dig much deeper into your relationship with food and the environment around you.

Is nutrition coaching right for me?

Nutrition coaching works best when you’re ready to make real, lasting change. When you’re ready to put in the work, accept there WILL be ups and downs and that you’re willing to work through those ups and downs with my support.

If you are ready, willing and able to make this happen – and you’re willing to explore your barriers to change – then truly amazing things can happen. Life-changing amazing things!

Your Identity

Many of us have deep-rooted beliefs about who we are & who we are around food. The diet industry has compounded many of our beliefs and our relationships with food.

Have you ever said any of the following?

I just don’t have the willpower that other people have

Or

I’m just not motivated enough

Or

I’m just not the type of person who would exercise in the morning’.

These are all stories that you tell yourself. And because they are the stories you tell yourself, you wholeheartedly believe them to be true.

Your beliefs of who you think you are shape your behaviours. This can go both ways! So if you want to experience real, long-lasting transformation, you’ve GOT to change the mental script.

We are the authors of our own story.

And we can re-write our own story at any time, IF we can break free of our fixed mindset.

So many of us make the mistake of thinking our identity is fixed, believing it’s just the person we were born to be. But that isn’t true.

If we can develop a growth mindset around our identity and realise we DO have power to change it, then amazing things happen.

I’ll ask the right questions at the right time to help you identify the stories you are telling yourself. And I can help you change them.

Habit-Based Nutrition

I practice habit-based nutrition. That means we work on purposefully building solid habits into your routine, right from the foundations.

Habits that – with time and practice – will become easy for you to maintain into your real life. Even if you’re a mum of 6 with a full-time job, 3 dogs and a busy travel schedule.

Motivational Interviewing

This is my stealth secret sauce. You won’t have a clue it’s happening (I do it on my husband all the time and he still hasn’t realised).

Motivational interviewing is an interviewing style centered on you. It’s incredibly powerful at eliciting behavioral change.

Change is difficult. And I will use EVERY trick I know to help support you to build the internal motivation you need to make meaningful change.

Accountability

So many of my clients know what they should be doing to achieve their goals. They know how to balance a meal plan & what to do in the gym. But they just aren’t doing it.

This really resonates with me because this was my story too. I was a personal trainer and a certified nutrition coach, but I STILL couldn’t make myself do what I knew I needed to do to achieve my goals.

So, I practiced what I preached and got myself a nutrition coach. Knowledge can be a dangerous thing when we think we know it all but just don’t implement it. Pride gets in the way.

‘To know and not do is not yet to know.’ Buddhist Proverb

Since becoming a coach, coaches have become an important part of my life and I owe a lot to them. I’ve had a nutrition coach, a mentor to make me a better nutrition coach, 3 business coaches, a copywriting coach and I’m just about to embark on a journey with a social media coach.

So to say I rate coaching is an understatement.

Despite the amazing knowledge and expertise of all these people (and I always try to work with the best), the BIGGEST benefit I have experienced working with every one of them is accountability.

Accountability to check in on a regular basis & see how I’m doing. Accountability to achieve the tasks we agreed on and to meet deadlines. To know that someone else cares about me achieving my goals as much as I do.

It really is priceless (and why I spend way more than my bank balance would like on coaching).

Finding food freedom

Far, far beyond just losing weight, you’ll start to see weight loss as a happy side effect of finding food freedom & gaining control of your eating habits. The way you think and feel about food will be completely transformed.

For some people, this takes 8 weeks. But for many, it will take far, far longer – 6 months, a year or more.

I can support you on your journey. I can find your strengths when all you see are your weaknesses. Together, we can change everything. But I cannot do the work for you.

If you might be interested in starting a coaching relationship with me, then do reach out. I’m fully booked until the end of August but I do have a waitlist. So if you want to find out more about working together, just drop me a message & let’s start talking.

Until next time,
